Mica Kathryn Thayne Oler
Yes, as many of you know, we had our 8th child on August 21st. She was 7 lb. and 9 oz. and 20 1/2 in. long at 10 days early. I am very glad she came early for she has been a healthy eater and has grown quickly. She is already 10 lb. at 4 weeks. She is an easy baby so far and everyone adores her especially her oldest sisters. Madison has even babysat her a few times and done a wonderful job. I love having older daughter's with a baby. It is heavenly. It was fun when all the kids came to visit in the hospital. We filled the room to the brim.

Cinnamon Rolls Annyone?
I made some cinnamon rolls today that were delicious. I used the same recipe that Jen and I made the rolls at our sealing with. I thought I would post the e-mail that got me the recipe (kind of funny) with the recipe for anyone who is interested. It is so easy!! Makes wheat or white rolls or Cinnamon rolls!
This is how it all came about - Written in my early pregnancy( Feb 6, 2009):
So, yesterday I had enough energy to try to make some cinnamon rolls from a box mix I had. Unfortunately the expiration date on the box was 2006. The yeast was in a packet so I thought it might work. Ha Ha Ha. O. K. so they were the worst cinnamon rolls ever, but my poor family devoured them because I had never made cinnamon rolls before and they said that chewy rolls are kind of a nice change. Sad, so very sad, I know. So, I am determined to make them some real ones that have a fluffy component:). So, could you send me a wheat and a white recipe I could do in my Kitchen aid. Thanks!!!
This is Jen's Response - Recipe!!!!
This is the one that I use—no kitchen aid necessary!
Blender rolls
Measure 7 cups white flour (or 3 ½ cups white and 3 ½ cups wheat flour) in a large mixing bowl
In your blender, blend
2 Tbs yeast
½ cup sugar
1 stick margarine, cut up
1 egg
2 tsp salt
2 ½ cups hot water
Blend and pour over flour mixture. Mix with fork until wet and then finish mixing with hands until all flour is mixed in. Cover and let rise until double in size. Form into rolls. Let rise about 10 minutes. Bake at 350-375 until done, (about 20 minutes). Makes 24 rolls.
For cinnamon rolls:
Take ½ of the dough and roll into long rectangle. Spread soft butter or margarine on dough. Spread generous portion of cinnamon/brown sugar mix on dough. Roll and cut into 12 cinnamon rolls. Repeat again with rest of the dough.
I usually make a double batch and make one tray of cinnamon rolls and 1 tray of regular rolls. Sometimes I make all white and sometimes I use ½ white and ½ wheat. They are really easy—no kneading involved! Good luck! Your can frost the cinnamon rolls with any white frosting. I usually make one with butter, powdered sugar and milk. Cream cheese frosting is delicious on these but I am usually to lazy to make it.

Last post today...but so very funny!
So this is the same shirt Eric was wearing a few hours ago in his graduation pictures (that was green!!!). He splashed something on it in school and had to come straight home to wash it. (OCD) We were out of laundry detergent so he decided to use bleach since it looked like a good cleaning agent. I am just glad that he did not put his brand new blue dress pants in with it. I guess the color isn't so bad...
The last day of School - Finally...
Today, July 2nd, was the last day of school for the final 4 kids (Eric, Rhett, Scott and Aleah - Aleah had already gone to her Mom's before I could get her in a picture.). Yea!!! I believe school should not be in the summer- the sun is up too late, the kids are too wired and everyone just wants to play. Its even harder when some of them don't have to go to school- exacerbates complaining!!
It was also Eric's Graduation from elementary school again:)! I say again because he graduated from 5th grade last year to go to middle school. Unfortunately Utah does not end elementary school until 6th grade. Eric was peeved to have graduated and then have to go back for one more year. He was one in 4 boys in the school who received the Presidential Award for academic excellence. We were very proud of him!
Travis and Alicia Forever!
On June 27th, 2009 Travis and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Bountiful Temple. It was truly one of the loveliest most spiritual days of my life. I am absolutely thrilled to be finally sealed to my true love and the most wonderful man I have ever known. It was also quite fun getting married in the temple @ 7 months pregnant- I barely noticed my big belly and awkwardness in all the joy and excitement.Most of Travis's siblings and
their spouses, his parents, his Uncle Doug and Aunt Susan, Aunt Marilee, and Aunt Jane were all able to attend. It was wonderful to have them all there, especially now that I have grown to love them all so much.

My dear friend Jennifer was able to fly out and be my Escort and my familial support. It was a delight to have her here. It also so happened that My good friend Darlene Rounsville and her husband Jared ( my ex bishop and stake president- the one who actually married us a year ago!!) were in town for the weekend and were able to attend the sealing!! All the Siblings and their families, Sue, Steve, Jane and Marilee were at the party afterward and we had a great time and the food was delicious.!!

Why can I not find the time to blog??
Well, I could first whine about the fact that I am old and pregnant and coming onto my last trimester in the heat of summer but that seems too dramatic. I could whine about my husband having 4 jobs and being as busy as a medical resident, but I know I can deal with that and the fact that he is so attentive to my needs in spite of his own exhaustion, I can't bear to complain when he is so good to me. So lets focus on what the kids are up to shall we?!?!
Madi just got through running track and loving it. She has also had a few orchestra concerts and is spent last week at EFY-especially for youth - a youth camp at BYU. She was living in the dorms and loved her autonomy and grew spiritually. Above is a picture of her with her best friend, Tori, who came up from NM to go to EFY as well. Today is her, Bobby and Kimi's last day of school. Kimi and Bobby are completely excited to be starting Summer and Madi just seems flooded by all the extra social activity of the day-such the introvert.
Kimi is in choir (had a few concerts herself recently) and got an award for her exuberance, spunk and effort ( for standing out) which only 4 of the girls in the huge choir were awarded. She was doing Tumbling and Trampolining (T-n-T)but broke her middle finger rotationally and laterally next to her growth plate (Yah, it was bad) She was totally bumbed to have to miss T-n-T for two months but as you can see from above, she is back to it in the Back Yard teaching Rhett. (She had taught him a lot)
Eric has been off track for 3 weeks but he, Rhett, Scott and Aleah go back on Monday. (Actually I don't think Aleah will go back because their Mom is going to take them for the week during the summer and we will have weekends since we had them for school. It will be weird to only have 4 children again.) Anyway, Eric has been playing both Recreational and Competition Baseball. I put him in Rec. But a comp team spotted him and asked if he would be on their team for free. I couldn't pass that up and he is loving it even though there are up to 4 games a week with practices. He is ever the dare devil - one of his favorite pass times, jumping off the porch on a pogo stick (above). He will also be ordained to the arronic priesthood in two days. I can't believe he is almost 12!!!!
Bobby is sad that his soccer season finished. He loved soccer and especially liked playing goalie. He got some great saves and assists. He has done very well in school especially since this is the first year he has not been home-schooled. It was a bit shaky at times as I am sure it would be for any of us but he has excelled and thrived especially when we switched his teacher.
Rhett has been loving his T-n-T training from his coaches as well as Kimi. He really is a great Gymnast, and I am glad I finally put him into it since he has been begging for it for years. It was always easier to put him in what Eric was in. Poor Kid! He is fine in baseball, but more of a natural at gymnastics.
Scott and Aleah just finished swim lessons and they loved being little fish. Aleah informed me that she was a gymnast not a swimmer and I
informed her that I thought learning to swim would protect her from drowning better than learning to do a head stand. She thought about it for a second and relented.
So, you see with 7 kids in activities and a busy husband and a pregnancy, Blogging has kind of fallen off the edge in priorities. Don't expect much more for a while. I am feeling a nap coming on.....

Yes I was very excited. I really would have been quite happy with a boy. It is just fun to have 4 of each now and I have not had a girl in over 14 years. Wow!! Of course I cried during the ultasound especially when they switched it to 3-D. She is so precious!!

One word, four letters and starts with a "B"
"One word, four letters and starts with a "B"" - this is what Travis said to me when I told him we should go on a cruise next Christmas, since all our kids will be with their other parent. I had forgotten that on Christmas eve, a few days previous to my idea of a cruise, I took a pregnancy test and found out we would be having a baby around Sept. 2. I am now 9 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound today and everything looked great. For those of you wondering, yes, we planned this and are excited to add the 8th and final child to our family. Yes, we are a little crazy and perhaps it is a bit soon, but I am getting too old for this and we feel that it is the right time. The kids are adjusting well and seem to be excited as well. I am actually feeling better than I have felt in about 4 weeks which is sooner than usual, so I am very grateful for that. I do want to sleep all the time - last week when I thought I would lie down for a second with 3-6 year olds in my house by 
themselves, I woke up to all my bookcases emptied while they were doing a dance on top of all the books. 1-2 of them together are pretty well behaved, but there is something to the 3 of them together that almost invariably ends up in mischief.
