Teenagers?!?!
We currently have 5 teenagers. Whenever I hear a comment about teenagers being from another planet, being possessed, having their minds scrambled, etc- I totally get it. I also feel so very sorry for them when I am not so completely overwhelmed that I can actually think. My Mother and I were talking on the phone the other night and I was wondering if she was falling into the same category as my teenagers. Have you heard of "Tough Mudder?" My Mother says she wants to do that incredibly insane 12 mile obstacle course. My brother just did it and although he is not a spring chicken anymore, he survived;) and said it was fun (reminds me of my 15 year old son). I would like to have my Mother around for many more years and wonder what it is she has to prove? Shouldn't age bring wisdom? John Lund says that teenagers and grandparents are motivated by the same 5 values: fun, freedom, friends, privacy and.....uh I can't remember--he he--well I best get to bed.

Long Time No Blog
Why has it been so long since I have blogged? 2 words -eight children. I never in my wildest dreams imagined my life as it is now. As a teenager, I imagined a prosperous career with a doctorate in engineering. In college I drastically changed my dream to a small family and a good education to fall back on "if anything were to happen..." which it did. Fortunately, my ex had a good job and paid his child support and alimony. Now, I have a wonderful husband, and inherited 3 more kids and had one more. Sometimes I think I am crazy, sometimes I am crazy and sometimes, my joy could not be more full. I love that quote, " Come what my and love it." I don't always, but I try and sometimes I just survive, but I can say, I know love and happiness and a fullness of joy. I also know all the rest.
